How did you decide to visit Vlore, Albania

What are you doing in Albania, being from Honduras? My response is always, “Why not? Albania is an incredible country, and I see some similarities to my own country, with its beautiful nature and mountains.”

I just love talking about my adventures in Albania! So, in 2022, while I was traveling through the Balkans, I found myself in Tirana, Albania during the rainy month of November. I was only there for a couple of weeks, but I knew I had to see more of this amazing country, so I decided to come back this 2023 and stay for two months to explore further. And that’s how I ended up in Vlore!

This coastal city has so much potential, and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to live here for a while and really get to know the area. From the stunning beaches to the rich history and culture, Vlore has captured my heart.

So, I suppose you could say that my decision to visit Vlore was simply a matter of following my passion for travel and exploring new places, and I am so glad I did!

What is a typical day/week look like being a digital nomad in Vlore?

Well, let me tell you that my typical day/week as a digital nomad in Vlore was anything but typical.

Unfortunately, I fell ill during my stay, but on the bright side, I was fortunate to have such a wonderful hotel host who helped me tremendously by taking me to doctor appointments.

I woke up every morning feeling refreshed and content in my comfortable bed, which is a must for me. I would then make my way to my work desk and do some business tasks before enjoying a delicious breakfast.

Afterward, I would do some networking and handle some more business matters.
But the best part of my days was spending time at the beautiful beach or taking nice walks or just rest in my room.

I absolutely love the blue beach and the relaxed atmosphere in Vlore. The locals are hospitable and friendly, and I had a new adventure or trip with new friends from different countries.

Two months in Vlore was not enough time for me. So, if you’re thinking of visiting Vlore as a digital nomad, be ready for a mix of work, adventure, and relaxation in one of the most beautiful places in Albania.

What surprised you about Vlore

One thing that surprised me about Vlore is how much potential it has. I see a promising future for entrepreneurs in this city. If you’re looking to start a business, I think Vlore presents an incredible opportunity.

The city is growing and improving at a rapid pace, and it’s exciting to see all the changes and developments happening here. I can’t wait to see how it continues to evolve in the years to come.

Do you have recommendations for anyone travelling to Albania?

You need to explore a country that is still relatively undiscovered by tourists, with so much to offer specially with its natural beauty.

Make sure to visit some of the stunning beaches along the coast, have a nice hiking in the mountains, and explore the charming villages and towns that are tucked away in the mountains.

As a digital nomad, I also recommend taking advantage of the growing coworking scene in cities like Tirana and Vlore, where you can meet other like-minded professionals while still being productive.

Overall, Albania is a country full of surprises and hidden gems, just waiting to be discovered by adventurous travelers like you!
